Kevin Morby

Artister 2018

At one moment he crowns like an anabolic Richard Hawley, he may sound like the striking and heavily gifted Arab Strap, he blends in Velvet Underground references like confetti and at times he sounds like a young Bob Dylan. Morby has been most known as part of the Brooklyn-based folk-collective Woods, but broke off a few years ago to concentrate on his own solo career. With four very solid albums on his conscience, he has established himself effortlessly as a magnificent solo artist, and is celebrated by critics around the world. With his uncompromising coolness and immense songwriter talent, parallels are drawn to Bob Dylan, Arab Strap and Kurt Vile. Morby's fascination for the New York underground grandfather Lou Reed and his The Velvet Underground is also evident, especially on his last album, the glorious Big Apple tribute "City Music". Kevin Morby is a big favorite here at the Bukta office these days, and one of the concerts we look forward to with most anticipation this year. Check him out today! Now with a single time.
