Practical info

Buy tickets

Festival passes and day passes are purchased via Eventim.

Those who are turning 30 this year must show identification when picking up U30 tickets.

Seniors must present their senior citizen card, and Coop members must show their membership card when picking up Coop tickets. If you have purchased Coop tickets for yourself and your household, everyone in the household must be present, as personal attendance is required and the festival wristbands must be put on directly.

Exchanging Your Ticket for a Festival Wristband

Exchange your ticket for a festival wristband at Nerstranda mall.

To save some time in line at the door, you can exchange your ticket for a wristband at Nerstranda from Monday to Friday before the festival starts. This applies to both day passes and festival passes.

Day tickets that are picked up at the festival area must be collected on the relevant day and cannot be picked up the day before (e.g., Saturday tickets on Friday).

You do not need a wristband for "Bukta for Alle" as this event is free. Bukta Nach offers discounted tickets for those with festival wristbands.

Opening hours for ticket exchange at Nerstranda:

  • Monday: 12:00 - 18:00
  • Tuesday: 12:00 - 18:00
  • Wednesday: 12:00 - 18:00
  • Thursday: 12:00 - 18:00
  • Friday: 11:00 - 14:00

Opening hours for ticket exchange at the festival area:

  • Friday: 16:00 - 23:30
  • Saturday: 16:30 - 23:30

Those who are turning 30 this year must show identification when picking up U30 tickets. Seniors must present their senior citizen card, and Coop members must show their membership card when picking up Coop tickets. If you have purchased Coop tickets for yourself and your household, everyone in the household must be present. Health personnel can report to the tent marked "Accreditation" at the entrance area to register and receive day wristbands instead of festival wristbands, allowing them to comply with uniform regulations at their workplace.

Please note that personal attendance is required, and festival wristbands must be put on directly.

Age limit

There is an 18-year age limit for the evening events of the Bukta Festival. This is an absolute limit, and we do not allow anyone under 18 into the festival area.

At "Bukta for Alle" on Saturday morning from 11-15, there is free entry and no age limit.

Bukta for Everyone

Bukta for Alle is a free, substance-free event on Saturday morning from 12-15 during the Bukta Festival, featuring 6 concerts on all three stages, as well as plenty of good food and activities for people of all ages.

The doors open at 11:00.

Bukta Nach

After the last riff has been played in Telegrafbukta, the festival experience continues in the city. This year, the afterparties will take place at Bakrommet at Amtmandens Eftf., Bastard Bar, Hålogaland Theatre, and DJs will perform every night at Blårock Cafe. Check our program and the events on our Facebook page for more info.

These items are not allowed to be brought inside

The following items are not allowed to be brought into the festival area:

  • Professional audio and video recording equipment.
  • Knives and other sharp objects.
  • Food and drinks, including alcohol.
  • All types of gas canisters, spray cans, or alcohol-containing liquids (perfume, hairspray, etc.).
  • Camping chairs (except those with a "Expectant Mother" card).
  • Glass, bottles, cans, and thermoses.
  • Pets.
  • Umbrellas.
  • Grill equipment.
  • Selfie sticks.
  • Electric bicycle batteries.

Bags and backpacks will be checked at the entrance, and prohibited items will be confiscated. Bukta Festival is not responsible for confiscated items.

Note: If you wish to bring mosquito repellent, you can bring mosquito deodorant, mosquito sticks, or pump bottles in plastic containers (not those in gas canisters).

Food and drinks

Food and drinks are served on the festival grounds.

Our partners have their own food stalls where delicious seafood dishes are sold. You can buy both vegan food and some allergy-friendly food, and from the fishing boat, you can get fish cakes. At Kaffe & Vaffel, you can get hot drinks with something sweet.

Alcoholic beverages are served in the bars during the evening events.

Bringing food and drinks into the festival area is not allowed.

There is a water station for the public at the Red Cross tent to the left of the Telegrafbukta stage.

Expectant Mother

The "Expectant Mother" card makes the festival experience more accommodating for those who are heavily pregnant. Limited availability!

Contact us at post@bukta.no to arrange this.

Environmental impact

Our environmental philosophy is to focus on locally sourced products and local suppliers.

Telegrafbukta is Tromsø's number one recreational area and a "sacred" place for all Tromsø residents. As festival organizers, this entails a great responsibility. Since our start in 2004, we have invested significant time and resources into environmental work, implementing various measures to ensure that the festival's presence has minimal impact on the nature in Telegrafbukta. We have over a hundred waste bins available during the festival and many dedicated volunteer environmental workers who ensure continuous waste management and cleanup throughout the event. We also encourage our audience to help us in this effort by using the recycling stations on the festival grounds.

As part of the festival's environmental initiative, we have a deposit system for recyclable beer and wine glasses, which are sent to Inventum for recycling. For each glass returned at our deposit stations, we donate a sum to Kafé X, a support network for former substance abusers in Tromsø.

Accomodation

Bukta does not have its own festival camping, but there are hostels and other affordable accommodation options in Tromsø.

We also recommend staying with our partner, Scandic Ishavshotel.

People with Disabilities and Companion Certificates

Visibility is good, and we have a wheelchair ramp in front of all stages. It can be a bit challenging for wheelchair users to move around the festival area due to some uneven terrain, so we recommend wheelchair users bring a companion. There are toilets for people with disabilities on the festival grounds.

The person with a disability must have a regular festival ticket. The companion should accompany the ticket holder at the entrance and will be admitted for free upon presenting a municipal companion certificate.

For special needs, please contact us at post@bukta.no.

Safety

Audience safety is very important to the festival. Therefore, the festival has a large team of its own security guards. They wear yellow and orange vests. Additionally, the Red Cross, Avarn, and the Police will be present. Please be aware that there can be significant pressure in front of the stages. Crowdsurfing is not allowed.

Transport and parking

There are no parking facilities at the festival area, neither for cars nor bicycles. Therefore, we encourage and recommend everyone to use the extended bus service or walk to Telegrafbukta. It takes about half an hour to walk south from the city center to the festival area.

Troms Fylkestrafikk provides extra bus departures to Telegrafbukta from the city center (route 33 from Sjøgata) on all festival days.

Taxis and private cars picking up/dropping off people at the festival are directed to stop at the intersection of Mellomveien/Krognessveien (below Tromsø Museum) to avoid congestion at the festival area.

After the concerts, shuttle buses will run from the festival area to the city center. Kvaløyveien over Telegrafbukta will be closed to traffic for a limited period.

If you are coming from the districts and cannot use public transport, we encourage carpooling.

Bukta merch

We have a dedicated store for selling merchandise on the festival grounds, where you can buy official Bukta products. We also have a separate stall selling band merchandise.

The online store closes on July 1st and will reopen after the festival.

Additionally, you can purchase merchandise throughout the year via our online store at stasj.bukta.no.
